Brian,

in case you are still checking this site.

Sorry to bother you, but I just can't believe that you can't get flash 10.1 installed.

One last attempt is to download the special Adobe de-installation file at

Before running the uninstaller, exit all browsers and other programs that use Flash.
The uninstaller does not work if any programs that use Flash are running on your computer.

Then re-boot the computer and run the installation file at

If this doesn't work then I give up

Regards

Chris

Chris,

I had the same problem as Brian. I downloaded and executed the special Adobe de-installation file  and then downloaded and installed Flashplayer 10.1 . I can now, at least for the moment, open the HP Solution Center.

Thanks Chis for all of your effort in correcting a problem that should never have existed. I will never purchase another HP product.

Thanks again,

Don

Doesn't work, it says it's not the latest version and will not install.

Hi Chris,

No, you are NOT bothering me at all.  At age (67 as of Tuesday) I have learned not to spend good money after bad.  I have spent a minimum of 4 days working on this problem, and I will NOT spend any more time.  I can't tell you how much you helped, and for a brief moment it worked great.  Then came the "critical update" (two of them) from MS, which totally screwed up everything.  If I have to fight and waste my best retirement years fighting Adobe, Microsoft and HP, every time MS decides to issue a "critical update" then I'll throw the **bleep** scanner in the garbage and purchase a much better product at less expense.

I purchased a brother laserjet/scanner combo today for $125.00 plus tax (in Ontario Canada) and it seems to work very well.  Other Brother products have been fabulous to work with and are a lot less money than anything from HP.  Brother also gives you great support (from previous experiences).

I have a few (ahem) connections and the next thing I'm going to do in the spring/summer, is visit my friend in the country and totally and absolutely BLOW UP the scanner.  It will be recorded for posterity on at least two video machines, but there will be nothing bigger than 1" left of the scanner.  Yes, "I have a very particular skill set", if anyone has seen Taken.  This will give me great pleasure!  I'll post it on youtube and perhaps facebook, on the HP page (if they have one).

Good luck folks, you are free to do what you please, but I will NEVER purchase another Adobe or HP product, as there are so many better (in every way) products that do the same thing, but better, easier, less expensive and with great support.  I still can't believe that HP will not help in any way, shape or form with a product out of warranty, and that should tell you everything about HP.

Best regards everyone! and again Chris, my sincere thanks for your help, if only HP was so helpful!

Hello. I found a solution for myself on the russian website https://drako.ru/about/news/77812.html

---------------------

-------------

-----

Completely removed the old Adobe Flash Player. Downloaded Firefox Installer. Then I installed Adobe Flash Player 32.0.0.371

---------------------------

-------------------------------

----------------------------

Try to completely uninstall your browser(reinstall)! I think it does not allow you to install "install_flash_player_ax_10.1_ie.exe"

Hi Brian, Good on you.

I would like to be there when you blow the thing up.

What really [content removed] me off  is that HP removed my two links from my last mail.

As though they are really trying to get rid of customers.

For anyone else the links were

Uninstall Flash:

[content removed]

and

Install 10.1 Flash

[content removed]

I presume they will be removed again.

Ho hum.

Best regards Chris

I get the same thing exactly without the error message, and I'm using WIndows 7 professional.  I gave up a while ago, and since HP is now censoring (removing links to possible fixes) these messages, I now will NOT post anything worthwhile (except blowing up the scanner).  Yep, HP is trying to get rid of information that will/would help the person who has been a HP customer for a long time.  Not wise, and eventually it will bite them on the @ss, if there is a God.

Good luck everyone HP doesn't want your money unless you are buying new from them.  The 1 and 2 year warranty is all you have and if you printer is out of manufacturers warranty by one day, they do NOT want to talk with you and will NOT help you in any way.

Bye HP!

Well it's unbelievable that HP is blocking my links.

They are really Shxxty if you will excuse my outbreak.

They have been absolutely no help so far and are throwing spanners in the works as hard as they can.

I would NEVER recommend anyone buy an HP product again.

Here are the links again.

I will try to keep them as text and not links to avoid them being recognised.

At the front of the link, You will have to add http:  and then forward slash, forward slash then www dot then the rest below as with any link.

For the uninstall file:

argestuttgart.homepage.t-online.de/flash/uninstall_flash_player2020.exe

For the 10.1 flash file

argestuttgart.homepage.t-online.de/flash/install_flash_player_ax_10.1_ie.exe

Regards (not to HP though)

I am sorry I can't offer the Win 10 people more help, however my Win 7 Pro. seems still to work with the 10.1 Flash.

I can only surmise that those with Win 7 who have problems may not have removed all components of flash, otherwise how does Windows know what the latest version war.

My uninstall file that HP keeps blocking can be obtained from the Adobe website and I think it removes Flash better than just removing it via Windows so that Windows doesn't know anything more about flash.

You must run the removal file with all applications on your computer closed. Most particularly any browsers.

After removing Flash you need to reboot and then delete all files in the following directory:

C:\Windows\System32\Macromed You can also delete Macromed

Then try to install the 10.1 version.

Perhaps you have tried this.

The only other thing that comes to mind is to make sure you don't de-install or install anything while your web browsers are running.

Again Regards (not to HP)
