This solution didn't work for me. I have a LaserJet Pro M1212nf MFP printer and a MacBook Air running macOS Mojave 10.14.4. I deleted HP Easy Scan and downloaded the app from the Mac App Store. When I open HP Easy Scan it does not recognize the printer at all when I browse all scanners. I tried downloading updated software from the HP website but received the message that no drivers could be found for my printer. I can print without any problems but scanning is a total bust. Any suggestions?

Hi @mabon,
A warm welcome to HP Community!
How is the printer connected, USB or Ethernet?
Could you check if Image Capture is able to detect the scanner:
1.) On your Mac, open Finder
2.) Click Applications and open Image Capture
3.) Select your printer name under Devices.
Instructions on how to scan using Image Capture can be found here.

Easy Scan worked fine until my last upgrade to Mojave 14.4.4. Image Capture does not list the device, and I unplugged icloud as well. Have rebooted both computer and the Laser Jet Pro 277dw. When I select scan it makes its scanning sounds but then no picture shows up.

You are welcome! It's possible that it's an issue with the print and scan driver installed on your Mac. Removing the existing print and scan driver and then adding a compatible driver may resolve the issue. Here is how to do it:
1.) Use the steps available here to update the software on Mac.
2.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
3.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
4.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
5.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
6.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select the name of your printer in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
7.) Try to print and scan.
Keep me posted!
