Hi, thank you for your response. I have tested other formats like Word, Power Point, PDF to print two pages on one A4 sheet and it worked ok. 

 

Despite the fact, that duplex scanning appears as very challenging when using a Macbook all questions are now clarified.

Hi,

Apologies for jumping in unannounced @greenturtle, I believe HP Easy Scan may better allow you to achieve your needs for scanning both sides manually, I cannot test it as I don't have any printer with ADF available for testing, but I'm quite sure HP Easy Scan can scan both sides and re-arranged the pages automatically.

 

@KatiLit- Please install and try HP Easy Scan from the Mac App Store:

When accessing the Edit Settings screen, ensure the Scan Type is set as Document, the Source as Document Feeder and check if you can see any option to scan both sides under More Options, I believe the option to select it manually should be available for your printer too.

Thanks @ShlomiL and @Greenturtle, I've tested the recommended app and indeed, it worked as it should  - duplex scanning was possible and the pages were sorted automatically by the app.
