I was scanning a receipt on my OfficeJet Pro 6978. I went to the Adjustments > Manage Images and cropped the image scanned, which wound up being 3.44" x 11.00". I mistakenly hit Save as Scan Area and thought, oh well I'll change in back. The image scanned as I wanted and I saved the scan. Now everything I scan is cropped to that size and I can't even increase it manually. I've reset the width to 8.5 and Save As Scan Area, but it's just not sticking! Aside from uninstalling the printer and reinstalling everything, is there something I'm missing? Below is a screen shot of what I'm trying to correct.

Hi,
Try restoring the scan shortcut settings and check if that may help.
Open HP Scan, then right-click the required scan shortcut (such as Save as PDF) and select Restore settings to factory default values and complete any prompt, then check for any difference.
