Can't scan a two sided page using "HP Smart" on my Officejet 8625?

Using HP Smart with my notebook I can't find a way to scan a "two sided" copy using the automatic document feeder.  I have looked for the "two sided" scan option but can't find it anywhere.

I normally would use the 8620 software but it doesn't work with my notebook at our house.

Any help is really appreciated.

Hi,

HP Smart provide basic scan capabilities, it do not offer any duplex scan capabilities.

You may use the HP Full Feature Software to scan a such, as you experience error it may help getting more details to get a better understanding of any possible cause.

You may also press Printer Settings within the HP Smart app, under Advanced > Printer Preferences and configure Scan to Email or Scan to Network Folder which both options offeres duplex scan capabiltieis.

Using the full feature software the scan allows duplex, but all I receive is two blank pages.  No images!  The scanner goes through the proper scanning of both sides of the paper and sends a blank image to my computer.  I am baffled.

Hi,

Try installing and using HP Scan Extended below:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Click on More > and ensure the Scan Sides are set as Duplex.

Press OK and click Scan.

May you see any difference using HP Scan Extended?

However, I don't have the icon on my desktop and I'm trying to find out how to get it. The HP Smart App I have doesn't do 2-sided feeder scanning
