HP OfficeJet Pro 9012e All-in-One Printer

Hello, I have spent 10 hours trying to configure scan to network folder on my home computer. Printer is OfficeJet 9010, computer is Thinkpad Z1, running Windows 11, brand new.

But the answer is the same when I test my configuration:

The printer is unable to connect to the remote destination. Check your configurations and try again.

I have set up network sharing (private network), turned sharing files and printers. My destination folder has permissions for everyone on the network.

I have enabled SMB1 on both my printer and my computer

I have also created a fake account "scanner" on windows to try to connect the printer through this account

I have cheked date and time - time zone is now the same, and there is network time synchronization.

On my former PC (windows 10) it worked more or less, sometimes I had to redo a set-up.

This is a mess! (seeing from all the posts on the same issue)

Hi @Henri_S,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble setting up Scan to Network on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9012e All-In-One Printer. Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help.

  • Make sure that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer. You can check this by printing a network configuration page from your printer.
  • Check that the Scan to Network feature is enabled on your printer. You can do this by accessing the printer's web interface through a web browser on your computer. In the web interface, navigate to the Scan tab and make sure that the Scan to Network option is enabled.
  • Ensure that the correct network folder destination is entered. Double-check that the network folder path is correct, and that the folder has the necessary permissions to allow your printer to access it.
  • Check that your firewall settings are not blocking the printer from accessing the network. You may need to add an exception to your firewall to allow the printer to communicate with your computer.
  • Update your printer firmware to the latest version. HP frequently releases firmware updates to address known issues and improve performance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
