Hi

I've reinstalled my HP Software and now I can't get my scan to folder working. It keeps saying can't connect to the PC.

I can print from the PC no problem, and I can use the 'scan to computer' option which puts the scan into the 'my documents' folder.

I have factory reset the printer and set it up again. I have tried using the wizard in the HP software and also using the webpage on the printer (which I can access from this PC) but it always fails when I click the 'test' button.

I am using my windows username and password in the software. I am not configuring a PIN. My printer has a fixed IP address, same as before I reinstalled HP software when it was working (used daily).

Any trouble shooting advice?

Hi,

Please ensure that SMBv1 is enabled for your computer, the printer require SMBv1 to be enabled to connect to a shared folder.

From the Control Panel select Uninstall a Program, then press on Turn Windows features on or off and check SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support among any of its sub-options, then follow the steps on screen to enable the feature and test the profile for the printer again.

Note: Microsoft has released security update MS17-010 that resolves the SMB version 1 vulnerability used by the WannaCry attack, please ensure it is installed on your computer:
