Cannot scan on MFP M225dw

I just bought a new iMac24, running Monterey (Mac OS 12.0.1). The iMac easily added my old HP MFP M225dw as a printer but will not recognize it for scanning. I cannot get any drivers (or any sort of help AT ALL from the frustrating, confusing, and useless HP website) for this old workhorse printer. Is it just time for the boneyard? (I won't be getting another HP, simply because the support is so nonexistent.) Any help from this community will be gratefully received. Thank you.

I understand you are trying to scan from your Mac. There is a driver available on the HP Support site which can be downloaded using Hp Easy Start.

Click here to download the same. 

Once installed, you will be able to scan.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Also, check for any software updates on Mac

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

You may use the HP Easy Scan app from the App Store or Apple's inbuilt - Image capture app too.
