I have tried with 2 PCs on Windows 10: Scanning with DeskJet 3630 works fine!
But with Windows 11 it does not work. I also tried it with 2 different PCs. in HP Smart I can print, but when I try to scan, I get an error. And in the Windows device settings - driver details it says the scanner cannot be connected, although it is connected via USB.
As I said: with Windows 10 when I do the same thing it all works fine, but with Windows 11 it does not work.
I need my scanner!
Please solve this issue, Thanks!

Hi @Mikust,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
I understand you are unable to scan
Try the below suggestions-
1)Uninstall HP Smart
2)Install all the available Windows updates
If it is been a while since you updated your Windows, that is the main reason why Windows says your HP printer driver is unavailable. Here are the steps how to do a Windows Update to install all accessible operating system updates.
If you are accessing Windows 10, then these steps are for you.
- Hit the Start menu and write an update. After that, click on the “Check for updates” option.
- Tap on the “Check for updates” option.
- After clicking on that option, Windows will install the updates automatically.
- When Windows completes all its updates, start your computer again and attempt to print a file to check if your printer works.
3) try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
4)Reinstall HP smart
If the error persists, install the HP Easy Start (under the Software and Utility tab )and use HP Scan to scan a document
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

This did NOT solve my problems.
1) I uninstalled HP Smart
2) I installed all Windows 11 updates.
3) Updating the firmware failed. A messagebox told me that I should now switch off the Scanner+Printer (all in one), switch it on again and try again to update the firmware. But it failed again.
4) I re-installed HP Smart. The problem was still present.
5) I installed HP Easy Start. I cannot find "HP Scan". Scanning in "HP Smart" still does not work.
Is there anybody who can scan with Windows 11 and DeskJet 3630?
I think it does not work at all for Windows 11 as I have the problem on all PCs with Windows 11, but it works fine on all PCs with Windows 10.

- Are you able to print?
-> Yes - Was the HP printer assistant installed on your computer?
-> it is installed. But it was hard to find for me (Windows Settings -> Devices and Printers -> double click on my printer).
With HP printer assistant I can scan - I just found out. - What is the exact error you receive?
After scanning with HP printer assistant and playing around there a bit (I can't remember exactly) It now also works to scan with HP Smart again.
So the problem is solved now. A hint how to find and how to use the HP printer assistant would have been great.
Thanks and best regards
MK
