Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a newish DEskjet 2632, using HP Smart to operate it on my Windows 10 laptop. It's decided to only scan in black and white, despite being set to "color". Test pages print nicely in colour (with a u), so nothing wrong with the cartridges. Tried resetting after powering down etc. Driving me nuts.

Did you make a copy and check if that copies fine?

If not, make a copy and check if it comes out.

No, it only copies in b and w. But a test page comes out with the colour cartridges all working.

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer

Update the printer firmware
