Thanks for using the HP Support Community.
There is a workaround: Scan and reload pages and then reorder the pages in the correct order:

Agreed that it is a laborious process!
The experience using HP Smart on Windows and HP Scan (with HP FULL software) is much better.
Will suggest to use the HP Smart app on Windows or the HP FULL solution software (on Windows PC) where possible:

Hi,
Please use the Mopria Scan app to scan, it does support your printer and support two-sided scanning on Android devices too.
Be sure to set the Source as Feeder, then you will be given with a Two-sided option.
