Officejet Pro 8600 plus
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

I used to be able to scan to an email, but now cannot scan to an email or to a folder on my mac.  I need to scan 30 pages.

The error message is:"Username or p assword is incorrect.  Make sure both user account and password are valid."  I use gmail.  When i click on Scan to email,  my name comes up as "from"

I tried unplugging/powering off. etc.  i d on't remember ever setting up a username or password for the printer.

Printer Utility: i clicked on Begin Scan to email set up.

Anything i click on under begin scan gives me the message: "

You will be redirected to a secure (HTTPS-enabled) page.

If you encounter a message about an invalid security certificate, follow the instructions displayed to accept the certificate; you may be prompted to click Continue or OK (or a similar button or link).

Do not show this message again"
If I click on OK, this message appears:

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you update the Printer Firmware from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8600-plus-e-all-in-one-printer-ser...

Then reset the printer's settings and then reconfigure scan to email

To reset the administrator password and network settings, complete the following steps:

1. On the printer control panel, touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network.

2. Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then select Yes. A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored

Run the Wireless Setup Wizard again to connect your printer back to the wireless network

To Scan to Network Folder and to Email please follow the instructions on 55 - 57 from this User Guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03026243

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a lovely day 😊
