Hi Katdillz from Jan V.
Yes there is a way to have several pages put into one file. Check the box that says, "Save all items to a single file."
If you're not sure where I'm talking about, here is more detail.
From the Easy Scan screen:
1) Be sure you have selected the correct scanner device
2) Choose your preset (black & white, color, 2-sided, letter, legal, etc)
3) Select Scan after you have placed document(s) on glass or documents at document feeder
4) When done, select SEND to either print or save the scanned document(s). If saving to a folder, this is where you need to change Format to PDF-Searchable and select folder where you want to save. Your selection will stay as PDF-Searchable for future scans. It can be changed back to "PDF" instead of "PDF-Searchable" if HP fixes the glitches we are experiencing.
5) For saving multiple pages as a single file, check the box "Save all items to a single file."
6) For saving pages as individual files, uncheck "Save all items to a single file." I use this option often and I save the group of single files with a file name of "a" or whatever short name you would like to use before you name each file. As the individual files are saved, the file names turn into a, a 1, a 2, a 3, etc. I usually save everything to my Mac desktop. This is where I rename the individual files just scanned and saved.

Hi JAM123456 from Jan V
I rarely use the scan button at the HP Printer, but it has previously worked to send a scan to my desktop.
After seeing your question, I tried a scan by selecting the scan button at the HP Printer. It went through the motions of scanning, but the document saved at my computer was blank. I would be really frustrated if my method of scanning was by pushing a device button because it's no longer working. By using Easy Scan, the workaround to use the PDF-Searchable format has me fully operational again.

I was able to use this technique to start printing from the scan button on the printer again (posted this several pages ago):
My best solution was very similar (using an HP ENVY 5660): Open HP Easy Scan (latest version from App Store) -- even tho you do this from HP Easy Scan you don't have to use it, you will be able to need only the touchscreen from the printer -- go into Preferences in drop-down under Easy Scan, click on Scan to Computer, click on Scan to PDF, click on Edit, in Output Type choose PDF-Searchable, click on Save, close HP Easy Scan. After this I was able to use the touchscreen only to scan, just like before the update to Ventura, and was able to scan documents with multiple pages. I don't know if it makes a difference but I also have an Apple AirPrint-compatible printer and am using AirPrint.
