OfficeJet Pro 8710
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been scanning to email for years with this printer.

I've made no changes to my email account.

I now get a message that my credentials are no longer valid.

I updated the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

I have power cycled.

I have attempted 4 different SMTP servers.

I'm confident my user name/password to my email client is accurate.

I've tried both ports 465 and 587 for each of the 4 SMTP.

Any other suggestions?

Hi,
For Gmail, a such may occur due to your Google account security settings.

First, open the following link and login to the same account as you set for the printer.

Note: if you are connected, sign out from your account, select your account and manually enter the password to ensure you indeed use the correct password, then click on Security from the left pane:
https://myaccount.google.com/security

Within the Signing in to Google section ensure that "2-Step Verification" is set as "Off".

Within the Less secure app access section ensure that the feature is on.

If it is Off, click on Turn on access (not recommended) and toggle on the feature. Otherwise, the verification will fail.
Once you are done run a test for the outgoing user profile and check if the problem been resolved.

For the SMTP server use smtp.gmail.com

Set the port as 465 or 587 with SSL Checked and use your Gmail email and password.

Yahoo will not likely work due to protocol changes applied a while ago, which are not supported by the printer.

Regards,
Shlomi

I've been following this one.

I can get my scanner to pass the test and send one scan, but then it fails all subsequent attempts to scan.

I know I have the gmail part setup correctly because like I said I scan one time, and sometimes get the verfication to work.

I updated to the latest firmware and still have a very frustrating problem.
