Did you install the package I linked to already?
Try that, then restart. Then uninstall and reinstall the printer through Printers & Scanners. If you can't re-install, try getting the 5.1 driver package, restarting, and trying again. Let me know how it goes: https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1888?locale=en_US

I downloaded the software package from your earlier post & installed it. I got printing back but not scanning. I uninstalled/installed in System Preferences but scanning still not working.
At this point I am unsure of what next steps to take.
I appreciate your help. It is 10:25p on the east coast. Whatever you suggest will be tried tomorrow.

Thanks a lot BryanCustomPure. I followed your steps in resolving my printer/scan connection issues and it worked out well. I am now able to scan my documents without any connection failures. Keep up the great work. 😊
