Fax keeps saying no phone line connected

I am trying to set up my new office jet 9012e. The fax keeps saying no phone line connected. Physically there is, the line works on other phones.

Your options are limited - the printer / fax has to at least pick up the landline dial tone / connection.

Make sure you are using a two-wire phone cord as opposed to a regular four-wire cord used for a phone.

Two-wire phone cords are available at most tech-type stores, and at Amazon and other online merchants.

What else?

Although it's a bit much, consider dragging the printer to another land line wall connection and try there.
