Hi @TreboR8491,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the update to HP Smart might have affected the scanner's availability to other applications like Foxit. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart of your computer and printer can resolve connectivity issues.

Check Scanner Settings in HP Smart:

  • Open HP Smart.
  • Go to the Scanner settings and ensure that the scanner is properly configured and connected.
  • Make sure the scanner is not in use by another application.

Update Drivers:

  • Ensure that your scanner drivers are up to date. Visit the HP website or use HP Support Assistant to check for and install any available updates.

Reconfigure Scanner in Foxit:

  • Open Foxit PDF Editor.
  • Go to the scanner settings and try reconfiguring or selecting the scanner again.

Reinstall Foxit Software:

  • Sometimes, reinstalling the application can help reset any settings or connections that might have been disrupted.

Check for Conflicts:

  • Ensure that no other applications are currently using the scanner or causing conflicts.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
