This is a HP problem and is not ISP specific.  HP needs to address this with a fix.  Very poor response from HP

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

AT&T has changed their mail configuration to use a OAuth, a security protocol not supported by the printer, therefore it fails to connect:

https://www.att.com/esupport/article.html#!/email-support/KM1240462

Configure another email provider such as Gmail which uses standard protocols which allow the printer to connect to it.

If you may set a Gmail account, be sure to allow Less Secure Apps and disable two-step authentication:

Open the following link and ensure you are logged on to the same account as you are setting for the printer.
https://myaccount.google.com/

Within the Sign-in & security section click on Signing in to Google and ensure that "2-Step Verification" is set as "Off".

Within the left pane click on Connected apps & sites and ensure that "Access for less secure apps" is set as "ON", otherwise the verification will fail.

Let me know how that pans out. 🙂

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask any other queries as  well,

Considering, this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help. 😉

I don't have a gmail account and I am not going to get one becansue the HP printer doesn't work.  AP needs to address this problem and find a solution.

I am not using ATT.  My email is Comcast and AOL and my internet is Comcast.

I have tried to solve this using an AOL email, Verizon email, Gmail, and Yahoo email.  All with the same result.  It appears this has been happening for several months and the only response from HP has been to point the finger elsewhere.  Scan to Email/Computer is a major function of this All in one and important to how I run my business.  It appears that I will have to buy another AIO to get this fixed but it won't be HP.

Is this really the last thing HP has on this issue.  This is absurd.

Dear HP person(s), please escalate this as high as you can and ask those individuals to escalate on their end as well.  We need a clear, simple and reliable fix to this issue.

I received a private message from someone who said they were a Senior Escalation Specialist and wanted my case details all over again and they would help me.  I responded that they already had all the information they needed from my previous posts and I wasn't going to waste any more time on this.  They either don't want, care or don't know how to fix this.  There are too many people with this problem but it doesn't seem to matter.
