My printer is new and the feeder doesn't work. Doesn't matter if I am copying or scanning.
What could be wrong? Is there a setting that needs to be set? Won't work with pressing the scan button on printer or from app.

@Rav4Gal, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If the feeder on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e printer is not working, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check for Paper Jams
- Open the document feeder and check for any paper jams or obstructions.
- Remove any stuck paper by gently pulling it out.
2. Clean the Feeder Rollers
- Lift the scanner lid.
- Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth dampened with water.
- Ensure the rollers are clean and dry.
3. Inspect the Paper Guides
- Make sure the paper guides are properly adjusted to fit the width of the paper.
- Incorrect positioning of the paper guides can cause feeding issues.
4. Verify Paper Settings
- Ensure the paper type and size settings on the printer match the loaded paper.
- You can adjust these settings from the control panel by navigating: Home > Menu > Trays > Modify settings.
5. Update Printer Firmware
- Keep the printer's firmware updated to the latest version.
- You can perform a firmware update via the control panel: Home > Menu > Utilities > Settings > Firmware Update.
6. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds and then plug it back in and turn it on.
7. Check Feeder Sensor
- Ensure that the feeder sensor is clean and not blocked.
8. Run Feeder Diagnostics
- Tools are available in the printer's utility menu to run diagnostics on the document feeder. Access these through: Home > Menu > Utilities > Tools.
I hope this helps.
