Set up my hp Office Jet Pro 9010 printer with my mac air 2020 and all going well EXCEPT the printer doesn't recognize the computer for scan to computer. I have tried everything including setting the webscan in the hp app. It appears the only way to scan is by opening either the printer app on the mac air or the easy scan app. Why isn't the scan to computer button recognizing the mac air on the printer itself? All other functions are working fine--it is clearly on the same network. I just prefer the convenience of initiating the scan by directing the process from the printer, which has worked on all my other hp printers. Is it something about the new mac os configuration that prevents this from working?

Hi,
Scanning from the front panel to Computer does not support macOS computers, the specific feature is only supported on Windows, as listed by the printer's User Guide.
You may use Smart Tasks to scan from the printer to a Mac:

You may also set up Scan to Network Folder to use with a Mac:
Scanning to Email is another method, supporting scanning from the front panel to a Mac:

Thanks and appreciate the response.
HP should address this. I also have an HP 8020, was able to download the specific software for that model was able to get the scan to computer to work. So clearly it can be done. Why they have prevented Mac access for scan to computer now makes no sense.
