Hi everyone! I recently bought the 4301dw, I decided on the dw and not the fdw because I don't need the fax features (who does nowadays?) and to save 50CND.
Print quality is very good, but my issue is with the automatic document feeder ADF. It turns out, after a chat session with one of HP experts, that the nonfax models such as mine have a SIMPLEX ADF. Meaning they scan 1 side of the document. Am I missing something, what good is it for? If I put a document having 8 sheets of paper printed on both sides in the ADF, the scan is going to create a PDF (or email) consisting only of the ODD pages?? Is it then up to me to flip the source, scan again, obtain the EVEN pages and then somehow work some magic to intercalate the 2 PDFs into one in the correct order? Who has time for this?
The expert pointed to me a video on YouTube, with a supposed workaround using the HP Scan software. The video was made by a 3rd party, not HP, and showed a completely other printer model (https://youtu.be/gTzpBommcuw?si=gOPS8I-Zek8N8Fqv); in the video the HP Scan was used to manually scan 2 sided documents, by choosing "2-sided" from the Page Sides dropdown. I don't have that option, the dropdown has only the option "1-sided" in my configuration. The printer firmware and HP Scan are the latest versions.
Anyone else has the same issues? please let me know of any workaround. I seriously consider returning it. Thank you.

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Support Community.
Can you download and install the HP UNIVERSAL SCAN Software for your operating system (WIndows only):
https://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers/swdetails/hp-color-laserjet-pro-mfp-4301-4303dw-fdn-fdw-printer...
Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.
There should be a "Manual 2-sided option" where the user can scan 1 side and then manually reload to scan the 2nd side and the final output will be rearranged automatically. (as per the video shared below)

Hope that helps!
