Hello, I have a problem with my printer. The upper sheet feeder (Scanner) no longer takes the sheets. I have already replaced the Document Feeder Kit L2718A, but without any success. When I insert a sheet, the printer makes noise, the rollers hit the sheet several times, and the printer goes into error. Thank you in advance for your help. Regards.

I would put a white mark on the gear so you can determine if it is actually turning. Also removing the back top cover that covers all the workings might enable you to see better what is going on.

We have had a couple of machines fail due to the drive socket that the roller plugs into cracks and then the rollers do not rotate. Remove the roller assembly and examine socket closely. I have been lucky enough in the past to have other dead adf's to harvest the part off of because it is not available by itself, only as the whole ADF. That may have changed and you likely want to check HP Parts Surfer to see if maybe they now sell it.

Might be the picture but the 3 o'clock position looks off. It only takes a hairline crack to allow the plastic to spread enough to allow the roller to not turn.
