I recently bought a new desktop to upgrade to Windows 10. I have been using the F2480 printer/scanner for about 10 years. It is connected by cable. It will print and photocopy but not scan. When I try to troubleshoot I get a message that the device is not connected.

Hi @HerrPierre
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand you are not able to scan. I'd be happy to assist you.
For printing, the printer uses the basic printer driver from Windows, and copy does not require any drivers.
However, for scanning from a PC, you need software to be installed.
Click here to download the full-featured driver for the printer.
Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
Open the HP Printer Assistant by clicking on the printer icon on your desktop and go to Scan.
For more info on how to scan, you may refer to this document.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
