If no text prints . check ink levels on the printer  Replace the cartridge if low on ink  , Clean printhead from tools menu of printer .

Have done all that from the beginning of this mess.  When I first bought this printer, we used it primarily for printing from our cell phones and my husband's laptop, which has Windows 8.  I never did try just the copying function or scanning until I moved the printer into my office to use with my new Dell Inspiron with Windows 10.  Still have a Brothers MFC 9700 that works with my older Dell Inspiron and Vista 64-bit.  Have been having to transfer files from my new Dell W-10 to a flashdrive and then to my older Dell Vista in order to print.  Not sure if this better explains the problems or not.

Tried the Full Partial reset

Have done everything like delete printer, add it again, etc.

Still will not work properly with Windows 10

Copying does not work at all

Scanning seems to work just fine.

Where can we go from here?

Thanks!

If scanning works fine , that proves the functionality of scanner , so copying should defnitely work .

I am not sure why this is going nowhere !!!

How long you've had printer for ?

If its less than a year i m sure it will be taken care of ....

Its time for you to contact HP support over the phone .

It's been a little over a year, just long enough for the warranty to be expired.

You mentioned in an earlier post about correcting problems with windows 10 (???)  I can live without the HP printer copying, but definitely need the printing!

Guess it's possible the copying function never did work, but I can't say, as I never used it.  Am very happy with the scanning utility, but the PRINTING is driving me crazy!

Hello Gm,

Or No response ..

It just acts like it's printing, loads paper, and then spits out a blank piece of paper.

have you replaced cartridges ? just ensure there is enough ink

Printer levels for both color and black showed sufficient ink levels.  Rec'd my 1st ink cartridges from HP yesterday, and tried the new black cartridge, and guess what?!? It's now printing just fine (:D!  Feel like an idiot!  Not sure why the cartridge levels showed higher than ink supply was, but now know not to trust them!

Anyway, thank-you so very much for your help.  I did learn a few things, so am grateful for that.  Appears now that I've got the printer working with Windows 10, and that was my major concern.  Just had to delete printer, reinstall it, and run the basic software rather than the Windows 10 update.

Copy and scan work great.
