Hi! I got an HP Envy 6010 a couple of weeks ago. Set up worked fine, including scanning/calibrating the test page. However, when I just wanted to use the scanner, it did not work. I followed all the advice from the boards, including updating the firmware, and restarting the printer after 60 seconds. None of this worked. The scanner keeps on flashing, but it doesn't scan. On the Smart Print app, it says 'scanner busy'. On my mac, the hp easy scan says 'scan done', but no scan appears. I tried Image Capture app, but that doesn't do anything either. Can somebody help? Best wishes, Angela

I have found the solution to the problem: if you scan anything thicker than a few pages, the lid on the scanner obviously does not completely shut. The scanner only works if the lid presses down on the white button on the left of the glass. This can be circumvened by manually pressing down the button, though it's a pain. I sometimes want to scan a book page or objects, so maybe an idea to change this on future scanners, as not everyone just wants to scan photographs or letters.
