Hi!
I'm having issues with printing and scanning with my macOS Catalina version 10.15.1 and my HP OfficeJet 6600.
My Mac recognises the printer, but would not print or scan. Eventually, the printer function appeared to eventually sort itself out, but printing is erratic, at best.
When I attempted to scan, an error message appeared "Automatic Document Feeder is Empty" and
"No items were detected in the Automatic Document Feeder. Please place your originals into the Automatic Document Feeder and start the scan again."
I uninstalled all HP utilities and Easy Scan and reinstalled both items.
The test page printed with no issues, and the scan test appeared to function, i.e. the document on the scanner glass appeared on my Mac, and appeared to scan. However, when I attempt to scan a new document using Easy Scan, the same error message noted above, appears on my screen.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers is about the extent of my technical expertise, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Dave

@CalgaryDave, Welcome to HP Support Community!
I understand the inconvenience caused. I would recommend you to go through a similar post that speaks about the scanning issues after Mac OS update.
Also, try using the HP App to scan. Refer to the document HP Printers - Using the HP App (Mac) for help.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
