Hi, last summer I updated my computer from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
Since then, I've had several issues with my Officejet 4636. I've tried pretty much all possible solutions I could find on the forum: updated HP software and firmware, ran HP Print and Scan Doctor, performed hard resets multiple times...
Scanning/copying went back to normal a couple of times after a hard reset. However, after a while the problem occurred again. Now this function seems to be completely lost.
I now believe it's not just a problem linked to the connection with the computer. Printing works fine. Scanning and copying (even with computer off) don't work at all. How can I confirm if it's a hardware problem?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.
What is the error that you get while trying to make a copy?
If you are having issues while making a copy on the printer, it could be a possible hardware issue.
Check the scanner bar functionality
Perform a visual test of the scanner mechanism to see if it is jammed.
- Remove any original documents or photos from the scanner glass.
- Lift the scanner lid slightly, and then press the Copy button or icon.
If the scanner light does not move or moves halfway or is not lit, the scanner mechanism is likely jammed/broken.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
