Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Cannot connect scanner in Win 10 64-bit environment. Drivers and software as provided on the DVD.

Works without issue on Win 7 64-bit

Hello,

Try installing your scanner as follows:

  1. Download the full driver: HP Scanjet Full Feature Software and Driver.
  2. Right-click on setup_full_G4000.exe and click on Properties.
  3. Click on the Compatibility tab, and then check the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box, in the drop-down list select Windows Vista.
  4. Click on Apply and OK.
  5. After that, right-click on setup_full_G4000.exe, and then on Run as administrator.
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation of your scanner.

Thank you for the suggested Vista Compatibility mode based solution.

I removed the previous installation and then went through the install as provided.

 

The scan behavior is just the same and will not do a scan.

 

I ended up installing a virtual XP instance and loaded the drivers there.

This works without error.
