Would you mind helping me try to find that file. I'm having the same issue. I tried the Command-Shift-"." to show hidden items, but still didn't find the HP file indicated in the thread. Googling didn't get me there either. Thanks!

I deleted the application HP Smart from /Users/Username/Library/Application Support/HP Smart. Then deleted HP Smart from the Applications folder and reinstalled from the Mac App Store. HP Smart still immediately closes when my HP OfficeJet 4650 finishes scanning the document. Your accepted solution does not fix the problem in my case and on my machine.

I agree. I came back after a month away and tried to scan. HP Smart crashed. I attempted to follow the procedure. Could not find a folder to delete and the app is still crashing. Clearly the app has an issue that HP is not owning up to

same here!
macOS 12.3.1 running on MacBook Pro M1
HP Smart 13.5.0 (570)
path /Users/Username/Library/Application Support/HP Smart does not exist ....
App is crashing all the time when double sided scanning is activated and most of the time when scanning one sided
@HP isn't it about time to provide a version which is working on a platform which is there since almost a year?

I wonder if this crashing issue is related to the memory overflow on the M1 Macs?
On my MacBook Pro (2021) with M1 Pro chip running macOS Monterey 12.3.1 and HP Smart 13.5.0 (570), the HP Smart app crashes anytime I try to scan more than 1 page via the document feeder. Scanning just 1 sheet (feeder or glass) works fine.
However, on my MacBook Pro (2019 Intel i9) running macOS Monterey 12.2.1 and HP Smart 13.5.0 (570), I can scan multiple pages via the document feeder no problem!

I'm having the same problem on my MacBook Pro M1Pro (2021) and HP Smart 13.5.0.
I can only scan one page at a time which is a huge problem when I have to scan multiple pages for work.
WHEN WILL THIS BE FIXED? DO WE GET AN EXTENSION ON OUR WARRANTIES?

I am experiencing the issue as well and reading the comments here about a potential file size issue, I found a workaround solution that meets my needs for basic letter scanning.
In the scan settings, select Grey instead of color and change the resolution from 300 to 150. These settings allowed me to get a scan of my three page document.
