Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

I'm sorry, but this has be baffled.

My HP Envy 7645 is connected wirelessly, was working fine until I upgraded to HP Smart app on our computers. Now, every computer can print but scanning is broken.

 

The app can find the printer and when I hit "Scan" on the computer, the printer will start scanning. However, the preview of the scanned document does not show up and the HP Smart app just goes back to the scan screen. Very weird.

 

I've uninstalled and re-installed the HP App

I've removed and reinstalled the print drivers from the Printer Preferences

 

tried connecting the printer directly by Ethernet and by USB

 

Nothing seems to work

Check for update mac,?

Reinstall the latest version of the HP smart app from the app store and try scanning. If the issue persists,

Use HP easy scan to scan from the mac
