Hi @ededededee,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 has suddenly stopped allowing you to scan to email and is giving you a message that your username or password is incorrect, here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.
Check Credentials: Ensure that your email username and password are correct. If you have recently changed your email password or settings (such as enabling two-factor authentication), you will need to update this information in your printer's settings.
Update Email Settings: Go to the printer’s web interface:
- Print a configuration page to find the printer's IP address.
- Enter the IP address in a web browser.
- Log in and navigate to the email settings to verify or re-enter your email credentials.
Check Email Provider Settings: Depending on your email provider (like Gmail or Outlook), you may need to enable "Less secure apps" or allow app access in your email account settings. This can sometimes cause authentication issues.
Reset Network Settings: If the issue persists, consider resetting the network settings on the printer:
- Navigate to the printer's settings on the control panel.
- Look for "Network" settings and find the option to reset them.
Factory Reset: If all else fails, you may want to reset the printer to factory settings:
- Go to the printer’s control panel.
- Select Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults or Reset All Settings. Follow the prompts to complete the reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
