Hi, 

I can no longer use HP solution center for my printer and I can not set HP Smart for it. When is HP going to do the necessary update so that I can start using HP Smart.

Reminder to those reading:

The bad news:

HP is not going to make the HP Smart application compatible with older printers that cannot support the setup.

HP Solution Center has not been supported for years - that won't change.

 

The good news:

There are other options for scan.

Some these might be supported in Windows 7.

All of which are supported in Windows 10.

I have the same problem with my HP photosmart B209a.

Printer works but I cannot do any utilities because the Solution Centre just bring up a large exclamation mark

As far as I can gather it windows software update has caused the problem.

I now have a good printer which I cannot use because of the software. My computer is also a HP but My new printer will not be a HP so I will not be on this site anymore. cheerio. how do we know that HP will drop us in again some time in the future if we buy a new HP,

That will work until you need to clean the print heads, test pages etc

That is correct.

All the recommended options are band-aids and not a solution.

The solution is to replace the printer.
