HP solution centre no longer works. Printer works fine, but I cannot scann since printer expects command to originate from computer.

 

How can I repair the Solution Centre?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software.

If solution Center still doesn't work, can you try this alternative scan solution (may not work for older printers):

 

HP Scan Extended

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

Let us know if that works.

I spent a lot of time yesterday deleting all the photosmart driver files and going through all the steps to download new drivers and ensuring compatibility settings were Win 8...  as per advice given to fellow sufferers... this did not work.

 

The HP Scan extended work around advised this morning has worked. So at long last I can scan again. But I do miss HP Solution Centre...

 

Are you planning to issue an updated version of the holistic Solution Centre at some stage for Windows 10 users  [and upcoming Windows operating systems]??
