Hi community folks  😀

 

I have serious issues with the HP ENVY 4502 functionalities. Especially with:

  1. being online (printer)
  2. to connect to my HP Pavilion TS Sleekbook 15 (6GB RAM still 5.97GB available but still slow operating)
  3. Scanning to PDF. Really hard times (it became automatically scanning to jpeg and no way back)

The issue Scanning to PDF and then sending to my HP laptop is still standing.

 

The issue is that HP decided not to produce HP ENVY 4502 anylonger and so HP did stop the support to that model. Microsoft was going up with their updates on Windows 10 and made my HP ENVY 4502 complete flip. FIrst the getting online issues, then the not finding my laptop issues. Then the forced HP software update did not work out well (because that was not really an update, HP took it out of production, buyers not informed! Apparantly not needed!). And finally the forced Windows 10 update. I see a lot of solutions were posted to earlier Scan to PDF issues to this HP model back in 2017, but those solutions are no longer options since HP took the HP ENVY 4502 out of production and stopped the support of that model. If you update to the most recent version, then you will loose the option Scan to PDF. You will get no option to choose, not even to PDF. Like the scanner takes an unwanted pic and sending that to the laptop (jpeg style).

 

I understand that HP is not supporting future updates, but what I do not understand is WHY even basic features from the past are falling apart. This is an unwanted downgrading! I did not pay for that! I bought me this HP ENVY 4502 multifunctional printer for the scan skills to PDF format.

 

Updating HP and Windows is not really easy: HP as well as Windows do not give hints to me whether the update procedure has already started or is still going on or it is busy. I really have no clue. And I am even a digital consultant for over a decade .... communication of both companies is really lacking. How should non-digital-expert HP clients have to react on this? A professional can't even solve the issue because of lacking information.

 

The only solution here to solve this Scan to PDF issue for HP ENVY 4502 model is outdated from 2017.... is there a current valid solution in 2020?

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer
2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)

 

The following resource will help you :

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.


3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

The newly downloaded software is unable to connect to my network. My HP ENVY 4502 is, my SAMSUNG TV is, my HP Pavilion TS Sleekbook 15 is, and my old HP software was. But my new HP software just cannot connect. So I got another downgrade of my HP ENVY 4502 printer again.

 

In 10 hours there is almost nothing left of my HP ENVY 4502 !

 

Ready for the dump ....

Cannot connect to my network means CANNOT PRINT FROM MY LAPTOP. This means I can only copy and scan as a picture (JPEG) maybe, that last I am not really sure, my HP ENVY 4502 is really going down fast!

High-end HP ENVY 4502 aka HP ENVY e-All-in-One Printer  (2016)

 

turned into

 

a simple Copymachine   (2020)

 

It is just impossbile to find a download that can connect to the network. So downloading new software from the HP site made my e-All-in-One Printer totally worthless. And then to imagine the old software was working well (when it comes to network connection). Even that e-All-in-One Printer is displaying the option Scan to PDF now, only that HP software refuses to connect to the network and so  my HP laptop to my HP printer.

 

I should have respected the one and only option left, Scan to JPEG, because now. I have to buy a WORKING All-in-One printer tomorrow in the store. Never HP again for me. HP just let her loyal customers down. I am so disappointed. I even doubt whether this is legal.

HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.0.6 sent me to a download software subdomain, but the link https://support.hp.com/nl-nl/drivers/selfservice/HP-ENVY-4500-e-All-in-One-Printer-series/5304875 is showing 4 links to the downloads which appeared to be dead links. Really, HP abandoned their loyal customers here .....
