This HP OfficeJet Pro 8022 does not have a built-in double-sided scan function, and I am trying to Scan to Email a document that consists of double sided sheets. If I place the first sheet into the feeder and hit Scan, before I can place it back in for the reverse side it automatically completes the scan and sends the email.  How do I configure the printer to hold off from sending and allow me to feed one sheet at a time to build a document?  I have been doing this with a scanning app on my iPhone for the past couple of years, and decided to update to an HP MFD. I am confident this must be possible at the price, but I cannot find anything under settings and frustration is setting in. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.  Use the HP Scan in the HP FULL software solution to scan double-sided pages and "Email as PDF".  The software will guide on how to reload the pages to scan the 2nd side and rearrange the pages correctly.

Can you download and install the FULL featured printer software from HP for your operating system:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-officejet-pro-8020-all-in-one-printer-...

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

@Time 1:44, select "Email as PDF", the rest of the steps are the same and the software will guide on how to reload and scan the 2nd side  and it will automatically rearrange the pages in the right order!  When all is scanned, select "Send" and it will bring up the Outlook Email client with the attached scanned file to email out.
