I had two computers and now I have one. I just went in to the "Printer Assistant" "Scan to Network Folder Wizard" and deleted the second computer. When I go to the "Scan to Computer" on the printer the second computer appears as "Compyter Not Listed". How do I delete the second computer?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • If you do not have the second computer still connected on the same network, we do not have an option to remove it from the list.
  • However, performing a Hard reset on the printer may remove the Non-connected printer.

Reset the printer

1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

2. Wait at least 60 seconds.

3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

  • If you still have the second computer on the network, you can disable Scan to computer by following these steps:
  1. Right-click an empty area of the Taskbar and select Task Manager.
  2. In the Task Manager window, click on 'More details' near the bottom left.
  3. Select the Start-up tab, then left-click the entry ScanToPCActivationApp just once to highlight it.
  4. Click the 'Disable' button in the bottom right of the window.
  5. Close Task Manager and then restart the notebook for this change to take effect.

Let me know how this goes.

The 5 steps above and the steps with the Task Manager did not solve the problem.

It looks like you were interacting with @Kumar0307, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out.

Updating the printer firmware may resolve the issue, printer firmware updates have product enhancements and issue fixes. You may download and install the latest printer firmware update from here

A network power cycle is also a possible solution to remove the second computer entry from Scan to computer list. Here is how to do it:

1.) Turn off your Computer, Printer and Router.

2.) Unplug the power from the back of router, wait for 10 -15 seconds.

3.) Connect the power cable back to router, turn on the router first. Wait till the router to initialize.

4.) Turn on Printer and computer, try to Scan.

Keep me posted!

My printer automaticly updates the firmware. I printed out a report and my printer is updated to the one that your link points to.

Doing all of the steps in your post did not help.

Now I can NOT scan to my computer (TouchSmart)

Let's reset scan settings to default settings and re-enable Scan to computer on your TouchSmart PC:

1.) From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ).

2.) Touch Printer Maintenance .

3.) Touch Restore.

4.) Touch Restore Settings.

5.) Touch Scan. Touch Restore.

6.) A message appears stating that the settings will be restored. Touch Yes.

7.) On your TouchSmart, search Windows for your printer model name, and click the printer name in the list of results. HP Printer Assistant opens.

8.) Click Scanner Actions, and then click Manage Scan to Computer.

9.) Click Enable to activate the scan to computer option.

Is the second computer still displayed on the scan to computer list?

Do you still have the second computer connected to your home WiFi?

Sorry I had to wait until I got the second computer (Microsoft Suface Pro 3) back from a friend that was using it on a trip. I did a Reset of the computer, but did not connect to the network.

The second computer still shows up as "Computer Not Listed" on the printer.

I'm afraid there are only two options left, either connect the old computer and disable Scan to Computer or to Perform a factory reset on the printer.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Keep me posted for further assistance.
