HP DeskJet 2630 All-in-One Printer

I have a HP deskjet 2630  operating on Windows 10 (or 11, I'm not very computer literate).  I have a passport sized photo that I need to enlarge when I scan it.  Currently, the scanner just takes an image of the photo (tiny) and the scanner cover which constitutes the entire image.  I just want the photo to be the image and fill the page but don't know how to do this.  Any ideas please...in terms an idiot can understand...Thanks.

Hi @Chasingunicorns,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To enlarge a passport photo before scanning it with an HP DeskJet 2630 All-in-One Printer, you can follow these steps.

  • Open the photo on your computer: Locate the passport photo on your computer and open it using an image editing software such as Microsoft Paint, Adobe Photoshop, or any other photo editing application you prefer.
  • Resize the photo: Once the photo is opened in the image editing software, look for an option or tool that allows you to resize or scale the image. In most applications, you can find this option under the "Image" menu or by right-clicking on the image and selecting a "Resize" or "Scale" option.
  • Adjust the dimensions: In the resize or scale menu, you'll usually see options to adjust the width and height of the photo. Enter the desired dimensions for your enlarged photo. Keep in mind that passport photos typically have specific size requirements, so make sure you adhere to the necessary dimensions. For example, passport photos are often around 2x2 inches or 51x51 millimeters, but it may vary depending on your country's requirements.
  • Maintain aspect ratio: It's important to maintain the aspect ratio of the photo to prevent distortion. Many photo editing applications have a checkbox or lock icon that allows you to maintain the aspect ratio while resizing. Make sure this option is enabled to avoid distorting the image.
  • Save the enlarged photo: Once you have resized the photo to the desired dimensions, save the enlarged version. Choose a file format (such as JPEG or PNG) that is compatible with your printer and that preserves the quality of the photo.
  • Print the enlarged photo: Now, you can proceed to scan the enlarged photo using your HP DeskJet 2630 All-in-One Printer. Place the printed photo on the scanner bed, aligning it correctly, and follow the instructions provided by the printer to initiate the scanning process.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
