Hi,
How can one skip entering a PIN when scanning to HP OfficeJet Pro 8730? Why does a PIN need to be entered EVERY time something is scanned? With the old HP 8500 it was just a simple "Hit Scan Button > Scan to XXXXX folder" easy. Now it is unneccessarily tedious to require a PIN every single time a scan is made. Why? Further, some members of the family are not computer savvy, could barely the 8500 without a PIN (we're talking printed directions on the printer so they don't forget the two steps). Now there's a PIN involved, why? How can I get rid of needing to enter a pin at all? It's more or less a business office, but family uses the computer all the time and there's no need for a PIN.
How can I get rid of the printer requiring a PIN for common functions like scanning / printing / copying? Thank you.

Hi,
Swipe your finger from teh top to the bottom of the screen and tap the wifi or Ethernet icon to locate the IP address.
From your PC browse to that IP address, the EWS page is shown.
Open the Scan tab.
Assuming you refer to Scan to Email click on Scan to Email Setup within teh Scan to Email section.
Set 'To' as Blank and set 'From' as Default From.
Click Edit for the active profile and ensure the Security PIN is blank.
Click the Yes button to reply that the response was helpful or to say thanks.
