Product: Desk jet 2542 all in one
I have a printer that says it takes a 61 ink cartridge. I bought the ink 61 and now I can’t figure out how to install it. All the videos have a different model and what I have doesn’t look like the cartridge fits (the cartridge seems too small)

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
- HP 61/HP 61XL ink cartridges are compatible with HP Deskjet 2542 All-in-One Printer.
- To know how to replace/insert the ink cartridge, refer to Solution seven in this document.
- watch this video to know how to insert a ink cartridge in the printer.
- Note: The video shown in this document is for HP Deskjet 2540 series printers. It also holds good for a HP Deskjet 2542 All-in-One Printer as it falls under 2540 series of printers.
- Also, make sure the orange protective tape with HP logo is removed before inserting the ink cartridge in the printer.
Let me know how this goes.
