I have a large number of credit card bills, utility bills, pay stubs, bank statements, etc, that I'm trying to scan into my computer.
I'm using HP Scan Extended to scan numerous papers that I have. I have a folder structure set up to put the scans in their appropriate folder. The Scan utility forces me to choose a default folder when I choose "Send to: Local or Network Folder". I decided to choose the root folder (D:\Scans) instead of the specific folder (D:\Scans\Credit Card Bills).
When I scan a credit card bill, the Save As dialog box comes up and I navigate to the "Credit Card Bills" folder. I save the file as "October Bill.pdf" (for example) and then click "Back" to scan the next one.
Here's where the problem is: when I scan the next credit card bill, the Save As dialog box comes up and I have to navigate AGAIN to the "Credit Card Bills" folder. Why doesn't the app remember where I saved the last document?
This is an inconvenience when I have to navigate to one folder up, but what happens when the folder structure is: "D:\Scans\Credit Card Bills\Current Cards\Sandra\Chase\Chase Freedom\Unlimited\"? That's a lot of navigation each time I save a scan.
I guess I could just reset the default folder each time I encounter a different set of bills, but it sure would be easier to just have the app remember the last-used folder while the app is still open. I used to have an OfficeJet Pro 8600 and the HPScan.exe app that worked with that did this.

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums.
You can actually set the destination that you want to scan to.
This resource shows how it's done:
HP Officejet Pro 8710/8720/8730/ 6960 /6970 series : Scan & save as individual PDF files
We'd suggest that you download and use the HP FULL software (which includes an updated version of the HP Scan Extended you are currently using)
For more scanning tips, click here.
Hope that helps!
