HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 All-in-One Printer

Everytime I need to scan from my printer to my email it requests a password which I have saved but is a hassle having to put this in every time. Is there a way to remove this requirement in my settings somewhere. I have looked everywhere but not able to find anything.

Welcome to the HP Community --

Your "non-e" version of the printer is both different and the same as the "e" version of the same series.

According to what I can find in the documentation, neither of these printers support true Digital Sending (SMTP).

That leaves you with the Scan to Email setup described in the HP OfficeJet Pro 8030 series - User Guide

Start reading on Page 47

Scenario 1

If -- when you created the profile on the printer -- you did not do so,

and

If your email provider requires 2-Step verification (also called 2FA) and App Password,

and

If you did not do so, it is time to edit your email profile on the printer and replace the email sender's account password with that APP Password you created for the purpose.

Scenario 2

If the password you refer to is the original PIN type password on the printer that you perhaps found inside the printer,

then

When you are working at the printer's control panel and accessing protected areas (options),

OR

When you are using the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to access certain settings,

then

You must enter the printer's password to gain access to certain levels of activity.

If the password is the original 8 number-letter character PIN type password,

You can perhaps change that printer password to something you like better and is easier for you to type.

WARNING -

Printer Passwords can be hateful, tricky, and mean little gremlins - good security, weird way to live

For example

  • If you mess up the printer password, you have to run a full Factory Restore to get back into the printer and into the printer's Embedded Web Server
  • If you do not mess up the printer password and the printer still takes exception to the setting for any reason at all, you have to run a full Factory Restore to get back into the printer and into the printer's Embedded Web Server

EWS > HP Document / How-to

Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

Section Open the EWS over a local network orientation

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
