HP Envy 4500

I would like to know how to scan a multiple page ( 4+ pages ) document into ONE pdf file .  I  get one of the pages scanned, save it ( under a file name ); and when I try to scan the 2nd or subsequent pages & save them under the same file name, the system  tells me that "Filename.pdf already exists.  Do you want to replace it? "   If  I  click on the " Yes" button,  all that is in the file is the last page that I scanned. I have unable to find an " Add " button in the top right corner of the Scan dialog box / screen   (  like I saw when I was trying to solve this issue via help from Google ).  As it stands now, my 4 scanned pages are in under 4   separate document names;  and I still have a 20+ page document I need to scan in ( and PREFERABLY into ONE pdf - not 20 - plus  PDFs  which is what I'll end up with - unless of course, someone can help me solve this issue.  And, just as an fyi, I was able to successfully scan 10 photos  into ONE pdf file a few months ago ( with this HP Envy 4500 & with the same laptop I'm using now.  The Scan Dialog box / screen DID have a " + " ( Add ) button  on it , whereas  the " Document to pdf " box doesn't ?  Please help !!  Thank you,  Phyllis

Hello @PhylK36 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!

To scan multiple pages, the resolution must be set to 300 dpi. In your case, I recommend a resolution of 200 dpi or lower.

You can find more information here.

Thank you, your suggestion(s) really helped me, and I was able to scan 15 + pages into ONE pdf ( and it didn't take me all night to do that !! ).  Thanks again.  Phyllis
