I want to setup the "Fax To Mac" option that I read about in the manual. I don't see a "Fax To Mac" option directly in the device menu, but I do see a "Fax To PC" option. Tha manual states to launch "HP Device Manager" to setup "Fax To Mac" but I cannot locate this application on my Mac Mini with OS 10.11 El Capitan. I think I read somewhere that "HP Device Manager" is not functional for later versions of Mac OS. I found "HP Utility" which works great and connects with the device. But there is no apparent way of setting up the "Fax To Mac" feature within "HP Utility". I cannot found "HP Device Manager" on HP's website, nor does a search of "Fax To Mac" yield anything useful (all help results point to "HP Device Manager" or "HP Setup Assistant", neither of which I can find locally on my Mac nor on HP's website). HP's website support will not provide direct help for my HP OfficeJet 6500. So please, can anyone help me find the application that sets up Fax To Mac, or instruction how to do so directly on the device? Thank you.

Thank you very much KrazyToad for responding. I do not see an "Applications" icon in the toolbar area of HP Utility. Here is a list of icons in the toolbar - Devices, All Settings, HP Support, Supplies, Registration, Recycling, Product Improvement. I am running OS 10.11.6 El Capitan - Would that matter to the version of HP Utility I have? Is there a way to force HP Utility to upgrade itself? I can't find an option to have a new version searched and installed. Or must I upgrade my entire OS just to get a new version of HP Utility that contains the "Applications" icon?
Thanks .. Robert

Hi @rsgwade
Please try these steps.
If HP Device Manager is not in the Dock, click the Spotlight icon on the right side of the menu bar, type “HP Device Manager” in the box, and then click
the HP Device Manager entry.
If the issue persists, please contact our Phone Support and our support engineers should be able to Remote into your computer and sort this out.
Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number and phone number appear.
Thank you.

Thanks again KrazyToad. I search of "HP Device Manager" via Spotlight did not return that application but instead launched PrinterProxy which launched my installed printer device. Clicking on the Utility tab and then the "Open Printer Utility" button produced an opening of "HP Utility". So I'll have to take your advice and contact HP Support for help with finding HP Device Manager online if not local, and more importantly how to setup Fax To Mac for my HP Officejet 6500. Thanks again.

Hello, KrazyToad, or anyone else ..
The HP Support website will not give me a contact number in order to talk to someone about this Fax To Mac problem I'm having. Can someone give me a number to call since the website will not?
Thanks .. Robert
