Having trouble with scanner. I purchased an HP 2 years Post Warranty Care Pack for $120 on 3-4-2025. Now HP claims no record of my purchase. How do I talk to a real person at HP? an option for a live person is not presented.

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
It sounds like you're having a most frustrating time trying to get in touch with HP support regarding your active warranty and scanner issue.
I am very sorry that this is even happening.
Here's how you can escalate your situation and talk to an actual mortal at HP:
1. Use HP's Official Contact Methods:
HP Support Website: Go to the HP Support page and enter your printer's model number (HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw).
On the support page, check for any Live Chat options, as these are sometimes available even without an active warranty.
If no chat option is visible, scroll to the Contact HP section to explore phone or chat options.
Phone Support: You can attempt to directly call HP's customer support at 1-8 0 0-four seven four-six eight three six (for the US) or find the appropriate number for your region on their website.
If you're asked to enter a warranty number, try using the Care Pack purchase information or proof of purchase to explain the situation to the operator.
2. Escalate the Warranty Issue:
Since HP claims they don’t recognize your purchase, you may need to provide your purchase receipt for the 2-year post-warranty care pack. If you don't have it on hand, try checking your email receipts or bank statements for a record of the purchase. You can use this as proof of your active warranty when speaking with a representative.
If HP’s system isn’t recognizing your warranty, contacting support through social media might help escalate the issue. HP has official support handles on Twitter and Facebook where they often respond quickly. You can message them directly about your issue.
3. Escalation by Social Media:
You can try reaching out to HP Support via Twitter (@HPSupport) or Facebook (HP Support). Many users report getting quicker responses this way.
In your message, provide:
The model of your printer.
The Care Pack purchase details.
Any relevant warranty or proof of purchase information.
Your issue with the scanner.
4. Try HP’s Virtual Assistant:
If all else fails, try HP’s Virtual Assistant on their support website. Sometimes, even though it may seem automated, it can direct you to a live chat or offer helpful information that leads to a phone number or other live support options.
Hopefully, these steps should help you get the right attention for your active warranty and scanner issue. If you're still unable to connect with a real person, using social media or escalating through the forums can sometimes get you the help you need faster.
As the saying goes, the squeaky wheel often gets the grease.
Kind Regards,
