Hi @Cuda29,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer is not scanning to email, there could be several reasons for the issue. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide
1. Check Internet Connection
- Ensure that your printer is connected to the internet. Check the Wi-Fi signal and reconnect if necessary.
2. Verify Email Settings
- Make sure that the email settings on your printer are correctly configured. This includes the SMTP server, port number, and authentication details.Open a web browser on your computer.Enter the IP address of your printer (you can find this on the printer's network configuration page).Go to the Settings or Network tab in the EWS.
- Find the Scan to Email setup section.Enter the SMTP server address (e.g., smtp.gmail.com for Gmail).
- Enter the correct port number (e.g., 587 for Gmail with TLS/STARTTLS).
- Enter the email address and password (authentication details) that you want to use for sending emails.
- Save the settings and test the configuration.
3. Check Email Account Security Settings
For Gmail:Enable access for less secure apps (if using a non-Google app).Generate an app-specific password if two-factor authentication is enabled.
For Other Email Providers:
- Check the email provider’s documentation for similar security settings.
4. Update Printer Firmware
- Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date. Check the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page for the latest firmware for your printer model.
5. Test Scan to Email
- Try scanning a document to email again. Use the printer’s control panel to initiate the scan and send process.
6. Check Firewall and Security Software
- Sometimes, firewall or security software on your network or computer can block the printer from accessing the internet. Ensure that the necessary ports (e.g., 587 for SMTP) are open.
7. Reset the Printer
- Perform a factory reset on your printer to ensure all settings are back to default. Reconfigure the network and email settings afterward.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
