Hi, my envy 4520 used to work with scanning and printing using the USB cable at our old house. We moved to a new house and the printer started acting up. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software and I got the printer to work over the wireless network. I cannot get the scanner to work now. I tried using the usb cable and it won't work.

 

I installed HP easy start to see if it helps. I also looked into the hp envy software to check my "scan to computer" settings and it said its enabled by default. I tried toggling that on and off and restarting my printer to see if something would work.

 

I don't understand why printing will work, but the scanner is blocked?? Maybe a firewall issue, but once again why would printing work both wirelessly and USB?

 

This should be simple. I am very frustrated this is taking this much effort.
