I have a HP Deskjet 2734e & am trying to scan multiple index cards but save to separate files.

I recently came into possession of my grandmother's handwritten recipes. I have been trying to figure out a way that I can scan multiple index cards at once but be able to save them to separate PDFs. I've tried the multi item function on the scanner and half the time it only recognizes 1 or 2 of the cards and even them won't let me save them as induvial files. It only works as a page 1 and page 2 type of thing. Any help is incredibly appreciated as this is a monumental task ahead of me.
