I think I made a mistake purchasing this HP Diskjet 4133e , I finally got it to scan the items but now it doesn't download to save it so I can email it , I get a message saying "can't safely download this item", it is connected to my xfinnity website . Any suggestions before I toss it in the trash?

The files are being blocked by the ISPs policy or by the application (outlook, thunderbird, Apple, etc)
PDF and DOCX can have macros that can be harmful. I get around this (AT&T) by compressing the files to .zip and then renaming the .zip to .bin or .hex since zips are also blocked. Note it may be the recipients ISP or the senders ISP or both causing the block.
You may have to sign up for a premium email account.
I once tried to scan a dollar bill but the warning I got was different from what you got.
Let me know what you find out as this can be a problem for other users.
