Product: HP Officejet 250 Mobile All-In-One
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Does anyone know whether there is a scanning software feature for my HP Officejet 250 Mobile All-In-One?  I have two older version of this machine, the HP Officejet 470 and the Officejet 150, both of which came with scanning software accessible from the desktop that will save scanned items in a variety of formats such as PDF and Word.  Unfortunately, the Officejet 250 is not compatible with the older scanning software, and saves scanned items only in photo formats such as jpeg and tif.  Plus there are no options for making adjustments to the final product.

What application are you trying to scan with your Officejet 250 printer?

 

Have you installed the Full Feature HP Software and can see an HP Officejet 250 icon on your desktop?

 

Please follow the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting Fix Scanning, if it prompts to install the HP Full Feature Software, be sure to follow the steps on screen:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe

1. I'm not trying to scan an application but a paper document through the document feeder.

2. I have installed the Full Feature HP Software and can see the HP Officejet 250 icon on my desktop.

3. I've tried several times to use the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting Fix Scanning.  However, it always stops on the Driver Check step and instructs me to disconnect the power,  then reconnect the power and restart the computer.  I've done this several times but get the same results. 

4. I'm highly reluctant to uninstall/reinstall the Officejet 250 software, and here's the reason.  I have this same scanning problem with the Officejet 250 when connected to my other computer.  After completing the uninstall/reinstall on that computer, I discovered that the "HP Scan" icon for my older version of the Officejet had disappeared from my desktop.  It turns out that the uninstall process also uninstalls  components of software for other devices that are shared with the Officejet 250.  When I called HP Support and spoke with a technician, I was told that the "HP Scan" software for my older Officejet printer/scanner is no longer supported and they couldn't help me get it back. 

5.  What are the risks of reinstalling the Officejet 250 software without uninstalling it first?
