To install HP Smart on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 using Linux Mint, follow these steps.
Install Dependencies
First, make sure you have the required dependencies installed. Open a terminal and run the following commands:
- sudo apt update
- sudo apt install hplip hplip-gui
Install HP Smart
HP Smart is available through the Snap store. If you don't have Snap installed, you can install it with:
- sudo apt install snapd
After installing Snap, enable the service:
- sudo systemctl start snapd sudo systemctl enable snapd
Now, install HP Smart:
- sudo snap install hp-smart
Launch HP Smart
Once installed, you can launch HP Smart either from the terminal by typing hp-smart or by finding it in your applications menu.
Set Up Your Printer
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Click on the “+” icon to add your printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
